‘Angels of colour’
Angels are believed to protect and guide us, they are born saints and lost love ones.
As the deaths of POC become inescapable in our news, this piece was inspired to represent those we’ve lost and the form of angels that must now exist as a result.
*With such a beautiful philosophy around the angel, it’s interesting that there’s little to no diversity in the way an angel is depicted through art and imagery. This piece was an opportunity to further represent the form of an angel which is rarely accounted for. The form of an angel that mustn’t be forgotten if we plan to progress towards a world free from discrimination.
